A lot of people are looking to lose some weight whether its ready for summer, a holiday and friends wedding or just to improve their health and appearance. This is the time of year people get to work and it is great to see more and more people getting into fitness and stepping out of their comfort zone.✅👊🏻
However once people begin their training they are consistently jumping on the scales in order to measure their progress. As much as the scales are useful there is a lot that needs to be assessed in order to measure progress. Most people assume that the scales are the best way to monitor your progress but the reality is its probably one of the few you should look at or even consider.❌
Here is my list of what should be assessed for any weight loss journey:↙️
➡️ Measurements
➡️ Progress Photos
➡️ How Clothes Fit
➡️ Your Strength
➡️ Your Fitness Level
➡️ Your Performance
Once you have gone through a few weeks of measuring these, THEN YOU WEIGH IN.👍🏻
It is important to always look at the bigger picture, there is no need to be getting on the scales every day. The body always takes time to adapt and change.⏰
If you have started an exercise programme you will be losing body fat and increasing muscle mass. When people see no movement on the scales this tends to cause stress and concern that no progress is being made. Progress is always being made you just need to focus on the key areas.😉☑️
