SHOULD YOU HIT THE GYM WHEN YOU ARE FEELING UNDER THE WEATHER?: 🤕
This question comes up a lot this time of year. People tend to get sick more when the weather changes and the temperatures drop. Now the first answer is which gets said a lot in the fitness industry is ‘it depends’. It is most important to listen to your body. We all know ourselves very well and know if we are just feeling a little under the weather or if we have been taken down by the evil man flu which only seems to get us men.🙄😉
If you just pay attention to your symptoms if above the neck: sore throat, runny nose, congestion, headache, sneezing etc. it’s usually more than fine to exercise with light to moderate intensity. This will also often help you recover infact.😜✅
However, if symptoms are below the neck: such as upset stomach, chest congestion, diarrhoea, survive cough and a high temperature. It is best to take the time to REST and recover.😰
CONCLUSION: Listen to your body, if you are are little under the weather with minimal symptoms feel free to get in the gym. Just maybe don’t stand to close to anyone. No one likes to be sneezed on.😉
If you are showing multiple symptoms and feeling horrible your body is trying to tell you something. Any successful journey needs to be sustainable and consistent. Also look at your training schedule you maybe be over-doing it. Thinking you want to do MORE but find yourself taking longer to recover and even getting sick. Then we become counter productive.❌
