Low intensity steady state also known as ‘LISS’ is a way of training that requires a long slow duration of cardio 🏃♂
The cardio could come in many different ways, walking, rowing, playing a sport or even lifting weights with longer rest times and light to moderate loads.
LISS can be a very effective form of cardio when trying to loose fat, alongside a calorie deficit it can be as or more effective than HIIT training.
Some benefits to LISS over HIIT are as follows: * Less stress on the body * Less time to recover * Less imagination required for a workout (not always a good thing in my opinion but others may benefit) * Reduced chance of injury * Good for people who don’t like to sweat and get a red face in the gym 🙄 oh yeah, trust me they are out there.
Conclusion; LISS is a legitimate way of increasing your energy expenditure, it may not be for everyone, it takes more time and can be a little boring (I would recommend watching a Netflix series or film while doing it) however when diet
